Pasadena Waldorf School is sustained and enriched through charitable gifts made by parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends. This vital support ensures the school’s ability to continue to offer a rich and inspiring Waldorf education to our students.

Your gifts help us to close the gap between the tuition revenue we receive and our actual operating expenses, recruit and retain talented and dedicated Waldorf teachers, provide over $850,000 in Tuition Assistance to families who would not otherwise have access to a Waldorf Education, and offer a rich Waldorf curriculum from parent-child classes all the way through 12th grade.

PWS students are immersed in music, movement, languages, applied and performing arts all in conjunction with a vigorous academic curriculum. The depth and breadth of a Waldorf Education requires the generous gifts of many, and we thank you for your support.

Support the Annual Fund and the PWS EID Scholarship

The PWS Annual Fund

Annual Fund contributions are essential to the day-to-day operations of the school, as tuition does not cover the full cost of a Waldorf education. This vibrant education depends upon your generous tax gifts to go directly to underwriting everyday expenses that make everyday learning possible in the classroom. From the classroom itself, to the teacher in the classroom, and to the students’ experiences, your tax-deductible gifts make a difference every day for every student. For our parents and employees, Annual Giving should be your number one priority when it comes to giving at PWS. We aim for 100% participation and encourage community members to make a gift based on their capacity. Gifts range from $100 to more than $25,000. It is the act of giving that is important. Please consider a recurring monthly gift to maximize your giving capacity.

The Scholarship for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity

The PWS Scholarship for Racial Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has been created to support the enrollment and retention of diverse students at the Pasadena Waldorf School, beginning with Black students and then branching out to support other students of color. The scholarship is open to any student who self-identifies as a person who is Black or as a person of color, who would also qualify for enrollment and Tuition Assistance at PWS. The scholarship is meant to help cover costs above the qualified Tuition Assistance award in order to help retain current students and welcome new students into the community. Our goal is to not only raise enough to maintain enrollment for our existing scholars, but to grow the scholarship to invite new students to the PWS community.

Other Ways To Give

Passive Giving Program

Turn everyday shopping into classroom and school dollars! Our passive giving programs allow you to contribute to PWS while doing your regular shopping. These programs do not require an additional contribution – and don’t cost you a penny extra!  Many retailers have passive giving programs for tax purposes, and will give a donation to PWS when you shop with them. These programs require minimal set-up and no extra cost to you.  Click here to go see our Passive Giving/Free Money for PWS partners.

In-kind donations

In-kind donations are donations of goods or professional services rather than straight monetary gifts. Examples of in-kind contributions include gift certificates, experiences, travel, and unique items for our Elves’ Faire Community Marketplace, school equipment, services, vehicles, and more. At PWS, we are grateful for the incredible community partners throughout the San Gabriel Valley and beyond who support our school. To learn more contact the PWS Development Office at development@pasadenawaldorf.org.

Appreciated Securities

If you own long-term appreciated stock that is subject to capital gains tax liability, you can avoid the tax by making a gift of your appreciated stock to Pasadena Waldorf School. The benefits of gifting your appreciated stock include no capital gains tax on the appreciation, receiving a charitable deduction equal to the full value of your stock gift to PWS, and supporting the education of a child you love. To learn more email the PWS Development Office at development@pasadenawaldorf.org.
