You can find Lauren Valencia at the Front Desk of the Administration Building, serving preschool families and visitors on the Mendocino Campus. Lauren supports the Business Office with communications and record keeping, as well as the Tuition Assistance process as the Liaison to the Tuition Assistance Committee. She also supports the Preschool Site Director with licensing and other paperwork. As a member of the Operations Team, Lauren coordinates Emergency Procedure meetings and drills, communicates with vendors and school partners, and answers general questions for the community. Lauren has a B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies, with an emphasis on Public Policy, from the University of California, Berkeley. In college, she began working with students at underserved schools in the Bay Area as a tutor, mentor and afterschool teacher. She has over 15 years of experience working for education non-profits, including six years as a Pre-K Lead Teacher for the City of Seattle in a Reggio Emilia-inspired program, where she studied child development centered on holistic education with a connection to nature and the arts. Her passions include music, reading, and social justice.
