Gillian Gamboa graduated from State University of New York, Potsdam in 1986 with a Bachelor’s Degree and teaching credentials in Music and Special Education. She then entered the Graduate School of Eastman School of Music (University of Rochester) where she researched the use of music with deaf students until she left to travel with the national touring company of CATS. In 1996 she earned her B.M. in Business from Berklee College of Music and returned to California where she interned for NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) and started the non-profit organization, The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation. While she was working to help school music programs, she rediscovered her love of teaching. Gillian has a wide array of teaching experience, including math and computer science, special education for students in elementary through high school, math/science, and assisting with formalizing a district’s home schooling/independent study program.
