Laura Cabral

Preschool Site Director and Poppy Preschool Teacher

Location: Mendocino

Ms. Cabral was born and raised in Mexico. As a child, she enjoyed playing outdoors which nurtured her love and reverence for nature. As an adolescent, she discovered her passion of working with children as she would find any babysitting opportunities with relatives and neighbors.

Laura’s teaching journey began in 2002, first at a family day care and later at a preschool center. Although Laura enjoyed working and learning from young children in traditional school settings, she felt in her heart that there was something missing in these teaching methods. It was until she found Pasadena Waldorf School that she discovered that children in traditional settings were missing the opportunity of nurturing their imagination, souls and spirits to develop in a holistic way.

Since the first time Laura stepped in the PWS’s campus she felt she belonged there. She realized that Waldorf education teaching philosophy aligned with her own teaching values of allowing children to develop from the inside out at their own pace and by making human connections.

Laura’s journey at PWS began in 2010 and in 2017 she was hired as a Preschool Site Director and Lead teacher. While working as a teacher assistant at PWS, Laura completed her California teacher credential at a Site Director level. Her passion and desire to learn more about Waldorf philosophy and her mentor’s guidance inspired her to pursue her Waldorf teacher certificate at the Waldorf Institute of Southern California and complete a BA in Human Development with Specialization in Early Childhood.

Laura’s love and passion is reflected in the genuine connections she makes with her students and in her commitment to support children in “the unfolding of their unique destiny”.
