Athletics as part of a child’s physical well-being are an integral part of the Waldorf curriculum and experience. These team sports are available to all students in Middle School and High School.  This after-school sports program fosters the development of healthy young bodies and good sportsmanship, always recognizing the students’ primary obligation to their school work and to their contributions as citizens of the school community. All students  have the opportunity to learn sportsmanship, athleticism, and have fun. Home games are often a community event, with enthusiastic parents and other students cheering our team!

High School Athletics

PWS has joined forces with Judson International School to play in International League of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Southern Section . This unique partnership allows students of both schools to compete on a higher, more competitive level.

CIF sports programs for girls include Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field, and Cross Country. Boys sports include Basketball, Track & Field, and Cross Country. Students can also participate in non-CIF co-ed soccer or Flag Football.

In addition to the team sports, the physical education program takes a holistic approach by offering a wide range of activities that provide physical conditioning, healthy body awareness, social cooperation, and creative expression. PE blocks range from cooperative games to dance.

Middle School Athletics

The Middle School Athletics Program is available to all students in grades six, seven, and eight.  Pasadena Waldorf School is an official member of the Foothill Sports League, with our school competing against private and independent schools throughout the region. Current teams include boys volleyball, basketball, and soccer, and girls volleyball, basketball, and soccer
