The PWS After-School Care Program provides a safe, natural environment in which children can climb, play, run, work on social skills, and be of service to their classmates, school, and larger community.
In our After-School Care Program, children are immersed in an environment reminiscent of many of our own childhood neighborhoods. Groups of similar-aged children play together in three separate areas on our campus. An hour-long optional study hall is provided for children who need a quiet environment in which to work or receive help with homework assignments. Our cook, while lovingly preparing two after-school meals daily, teaches small groups of children who help her prepare, serve, and clean up the snacks.
Ten dedicated staff members, all pursuing careers in education and trained in First Aid and CPR, provide a program of the highest quality, headed by a trained Waldorf teacher who brings the principles of Waldorf education into the After-School Care Program.
